Moffett wants to improve their customer service in the sales department by making their current practices more efficient. Students analyze the ¿as-is¿ process of how information flows throughout the sales department, determining which aspects of information movement could be digitized and in what form: human-to-computer, computer-to-computer, mobile, etc. They then research technologies that could be used to change the current state to a more efficient one. Finally, students propose a ¿to be¿ process that uses new technologies to benefit the business overall. In the process, students learn to do detailed level business process analysis; focus on a specific set of sales processes, to investigate what can be automated via e-business technologies; and build skills in information strategy planning and information analysis
