This course addresses issues of power, influence and political behavior within organizations. While the readings will cover much of the theory and research on power inside organizations, the class sessions will be devoted to demonstrations and applications of the theory. Included will be experiential exercises and case discussions. We will explore the answers to the following questions: What is power? Who has it? How do they get it (and keep it)? How is it used? What effect does it have on others? How does power affect the performance of the organization as a whole?
